Anna Sergeyevna Kournikova is a retired professional Russian tennis player who is popular worldwide due to her appearance and celebrity status. She is the daughter of Alla and Sergei Kournikov, a former Greco-Roman wrestling champion. In 1997, she graduated from a Russian high school and since then she has attended the Russian University of Physical Culture as well. Due to the chronic lower back trouble, she retired from professional tennis.
Anna Kournikova was born Anna Sergeyevna Kournikova on 7th June 1981 in Moscow, Russian SFSR under the birth sign Gemini. Kournikova holds two nationalities, Russian and American (2010) and as far as her ethnicity is concerned; she is Caucasian. Her parents, Sergei Kournikov (former Greco-Roman wrestling champion, professor and a martial arts instructor) and Alla (was a 400-meter runner) raised her along with her younger brother, Allan (a youth golf world champion).
At the age of 5, Kournikova received her first tennis racquet. She then joined the Spartak Tennis Club where she trained under Larissa Preobrazhenskaya. In 1989, she appeared in junior tournaments and eventually attained much of the attention from the tennis scouts around the globe. By the age of 10, Kournikova went to Florida at Nick Bollettieri's tennis academy after signing a management deal.
Anna Kournikova started her professional tennis career at the age of 14. Kournikova won the Fed Cup for Russia and a European Championship, making her the youngest players to do so. In 1995, she won the International Tennis Federation title twice and reached in the finals of the Women’s Tennis Association Tour at the Kremlin Cup.
In 1996, Kournikova made her grand slam debut in the US Open and the following year appeared in Australian and French Open. She then partnered with Swiss star, Martin Hingis and won the Australian Open doubles championship in 1999 and 2000.
Winning the title, Kournikova was ranked number 1 in doubles and also earned the title of the WTA Award for Doubles Team of the Year with her partner, Higgins in 1999 and 2000. In the same year, 2000, she also won the Golf Coast Open doubles and made it to eight semi-finals at the WTA Tour Championships in various places.
In the 2001 season, Kournikova injured her left foot and also suffered a severe back and spinal problems. Due to this, she had to take a break from her career, to undergo multiple surgeries. Kournikova soon made a comeback and won the Grand Slam Doubles at the Australian Open in 2002.
In March 2004, Kournikova stopped playing professionally, however, is playing only for the charity purposes.

Among them, Pavel Bure, a retired professional ice hockey player is the one who falls on her dating list. The couple met for the first time in 1999 and eventually started dating. A year later, they were rumored to be engaged which they denied. But by October 2013, they had broken up.
She has been in a serious relationship with some of the guys and was reported to have married as well, but she has denied the rumors. In 2011, Sergei Fedorov, a teammate of Bure claimed that he was married to Kournikova in 2001 and divorced in 2003. She strictly denied the claim. However, the agent of Fedorov also claimed that he was married but was not sure whether the lady is Kournikova or not.
In late 2001, Kournikova started dating pop star, Enrique Iglesias. As per some online sources, the two were married, but they separated for some unknown reasons.
In 2013, the couple reconciled, however, has not yet disclosed anything about their relationship, whether they are married or not.
After coming together, the two welcomed their twins- a boy and a girl named, Nicholas and Lucy in Miami. The pair even hid the information about the pregnancy from the media and audiences.
