Bob Seger was born as Robert Clark Seger on May 6, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, US. He is the son of Charlotte and Stewart Seger. At the age of 5, Segar moved with his family to Ann Arbor. He was raised along with his elder brother, George Seger.
Segar has a keen interest in singing since his early days. When he was 10, his father left the family moved to California. He attended Tappan Junior High School and completed his schooling. In 1963, he graduated from Pioneer High School. He also went to Lincoln Park High School for a year.

Bob Seger started his professional musical career in 1961 in a three-piece band called the Decibels where he was guitar, piano, keyboards, and vocals. Then he joined Town Criers as the lead vocalist but soon he left the band to join a bigger band called the Omens headed by musician Doug Brown.
The band released their first album, Ramblin Gamblin Man in 1969. In 1974, the band Silver Bullet and released the album ‘Beautiful Loser’ which was a moderate success. he got his major breakthrough in 1976 with the release of the album, Night Moves which critical as well as a commercial success boost his downfall career.
Seger latest studio album ‘Face the Promise’ was out in 2006, the album featured at number four on the U.S. Billboard 200 and was certified platinum in the U.S.
