Last night, Rick and Morty was given the highest honor our colleagues can award. As they read the show’s name in the envelope, I thought “this never happens to me” and “this keeps happening to this show.” Which is why I want to get “this isn’t about you” engraved on my golden statue. It belongs to hundreds of people, some of whom I’ve never met (thank you everyone at Bardel) who toil at our whim and gift us with their ideas. The pride and professionalism that the artists, animators, writers, cast and producers of Rick and Morty express has been a call upward for me to higher levels of collaboration, as has been the love of my glamorous bean @normalheller, seen in these photos as Jessica Rabbit’s Smarter Sexier Sister. I love you so much, Cody, you were the greatest Emmy date a drunk man old enough to be your uncle could ever hope to have, you and this show have saved my life, my soul and my sanity now can we please go get breakfast

The Rick and Morty creator attended Glendale Community College for a short period of time. He later used his skills at the school to produced NBC's comedy sitcom television series Community.
