Dean Gaffney Biography

Early Life

Gaffney was born on 14th February 1978, in Hammersmith, London, England and belongs to the Caucasian race. From childhood, he was passionate about acting.

He attended St. Mark’s Catholic School, Hounslow and later learned acting from Sylvia Young Theater School in Marylebone and Corona Theater School in Ken Bridge.  

Career

Dean made his first stage appearance in 1991 in the Samuel Beckett's play, Waiting for Godot, where he portrayed the character of the boy (alternating with another actor) along with Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson. He has done several stage act including The Unexpected Guest, Calander Girls, A Murder is Announced and Peter Pan.

In 1993, he made his guest appearance in the British police procedural television series, The Bill, created by Geoff McQueen. His role as Robbie Jackson in the long-running British soap opera, EastEnders created by Julia and Tony Holland rose his popularity among the viewers.

The team of EastEnders has played over 5,552 episodes till 25th August 2017. The TV show starred Danny Dyer, Steve McFadden, Ross Kemp, Adam Woodyatt, Samantha Womack, June  Brown, Kellie Bright, Emma Barton, Jacqueline Jossa, Gillian Taylforth and so on.

In February 2010, the team reunited with Bianca Jackson and celebrated EastEnders 25th anniversary. After the anniversary, he along with Natalie Cassidy left the show but due to his brilliant act, the producer, and director of the show called him back to the show.

In 2003, he participated in ITV reality television series The Club, where he took on management of a bar in a London club named Nylon and competed with celebrities, Richard Blackwood and Samantha Fox, later winning the competition. He then appeared in the movie Rain in Hell.

After appearing on a different reality show, he participated in a British survival reality television game show, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, in 2006. He was the eighth person to be voted out of the jungle and left the show one day before the finale. He also took part in a dancing reality show, Let’s Dance for Comic Relief along with Natalie Cassidy, Claire Sweeney, and Ricky Grovers in 2013.  

Moreover, he has worked for MTV and has shared some of his favorite songs which aired on MTV hits. The show was named Dean Gaffney’s Well Ard Hits in August 2008. Also, he has done some of the adverts for the washing powder Daz as part of their running Cleaner Close advert.

Personal Life

Currently, Dean is dating, a model, Rebekah Ward, since April 2016. The duo first met each other through the help of a mutual friend which was just a casual meeting. After a year as boyfriend and girlfriend, they are still together and enjoying a romantic life.

Before dating Rebekah, Dean was in a love relationship with Sarah Burge. She was his girlfriend and later got engaged. Their relationship lasted for 10 years and the reason for the break up was Dean cheating on his girlfriend with another female. While in the relationship they had twin daughter: Chloe and Charlott, born in 1997. 

In January 2013, Dean suffered serious head injury when his car collided with the central reservation on the A38 in Derby. He admitted that he had not been wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident. In the car accident, he might have been brain damaged, luckily he did survive in that accident.
