Demetrius Ivory is married to WGN-TV traffic reporter Erin McElroy. They walked down the aisle in the private ceremony held among close friends and family at the Salvage One in Chicago on 21 December 2014. The couple also had a special person for their wedding ceremony, Amy Aiello, former photographer of WGN.

The pair dated for a while before they exchanged wedding vows. They remained notoriously silent at the beginning of their relationship not even letting in their co-workers on their newfound romance. Moreover, they opened up about their relationship only weeks before they were married.
