Good Friend Of David Packouz; Their Work At AEY Inc.
Efraim and his partner from AEY Inc., David Packouz are good friends from their high school days. They were really close to each other but got separated after school. Later, they got reunited and began working together in 2005, when Efraim was just 19 and David was 23.
The duo built a strong partnership, though got into multiple legal problems. Moreover, they were called "stoner arms dealers' or "the dudes", for their behavior while at AEY.
Sentenced For Four Years In Prison
Diveroli began AEY during his teenage days, dealing with heavy arms trade from an apartment in Miami. Interestingly, he started off with just a laptop, surfing government websites where arms contracts were posted.
At the age of 18, he geared up his business with the financial help of his friend, Ralph Merrill, who was a millionaire.
Efraim got into a legal issue when he and David secured a contract worth $298 million with the United States's government. The contract was to supply ammunition and arms to all the US-allied forces in Afghanistan.
At the time, arms and ammunition made in China were prohibited and the duo wasn't supposed to trade them, but they did. Soon the United States army started reviewing the whole procedure and also found out the weapons and equipment were botched.

Later, he was also sentenced for possessing guns while on bond.
The Movie War Dogs Is Based On His And David's Life
The 33 years old, Efraim had an interesting story which would make a great movie. Well, there's already a movie titled, "War Dogs" made on Efraim and Packouz life. Their mastermind business plan got so much attention back then, it had to be written and also produced as a movie.

Initially, Guy Lawson, a Canadian journalist wrote a book "Arms and the Dudes," based on David and Efraim, publishing it in 2015. Later, the Oscar nominee, Todd Phillips, got the story into the movie, "War Dogs", starring Miles Teller as David and Jonah Hill as Efraim.
After its release, the movie received positive feedback and was critically praised. However, Diveroli was unhappy with the movie and filed a lawsuit against Todd, production company, as well as producer Bradley Cooper, claiming the basis of the movie was taken from his memoir, "Once A gun Runner."
