Elizabeth Francis Frakes, the daughter of Jonathan Frakes and Genie Francis, wrote a children's book called I Don't Want To Play Princess and is also a yoga teacher. Her inspiration for the book came from the fun summers she had playing outdoors on Lake Megunticook in Maine. While she was at Viewpoint, she became a certified yoga teacher and used to teach yoga to kids from families with lower incomes. 

Apart from her poetry, some of which got published in The Portland Review, she also wrote a full-length play called Moleman. She introduced it during a year-long residency with Echo Theatre. 

Elizabeth even started an art group called Might Be A Bad One Collective. They meet twice a month to create a space for collaboration, accountability, and a creative community.

In college, Eliza was active in the English and Theatre departments, undertaking independent studies with both. This allowed her to create a pilot and a play. Her original pilot won the student category of the Wild Sound Festival, and she received the Departmental Distinction Award for acting.  

To improve her acting skills, Frakes took lessons with the Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble. There, she learned everything from devising to Shakespeare. Additionally, she worked as an RA/TA at Fir Acres’ writing workshop in Portland, Oregon.
