Early life Of Eric Benet

Eric Benet was born as Eric Benét Jordan on October 15, 1966, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has five siblings, and he is the youngest of them. His late father was a police detective who loved classical music.

Benet comes from musical a family as most of his family members were involved in the music industry.

Eric Benet Career

Eric Benet was interested in music since his early days, in the 1980s he performed with a group, Gerard. Later he formed a band called Benét along with his sister and cousin and released a self-titled album which was a big hit.

In 1994, he began his solo career and signed a contract with Warner Bros. Records. He released his solo debut album, True to Myself in 1996 which included the top-ten R&B hits like Spiritual Thang, Femininity and Let's Stay Together". His single, Spend My Life With You topped the American R&B charts and got him his first Emmy nomination.

In 2001 he had an issue with Warner Bros., so he changed his distributed label to Friday Records. Working with the new label he released many hit songs such as; Runnin, Real Love, You're the Only One, Sometimes I Cry and much more.

Benet released his international album, The Other One in 2014 in collaboration with European production collective. In 2016 he released his eponymous seventh studio album and first major album, The One.

Besides singing, he is active in acting too. He made his television debut in 1998 with For Your Love which aired until 2002. He made his movie debut in 2001 with Glitter.

Eric Benet is happily married to Manuela Testolini The duo tied the knot on July 31, 2011, at The Resort at Pelican Hill (Newport Beach, California). Their wedding was a star-studded where guests like; Samuel L. Jackson, Niecy Nash, Shaun Robinson, and Matt Bonner were present. 

The duo is a proud parent of two children; Lucia Bella, born on December 2011 and Amoura Luna born in 2014.

Previously, Benet was married to actress Halle Berry in January 2001 and divorced in January 2005 though they separated in October 2003.

In his 20's, he was in a romantic relationship with girlfriend, Tami Marie Stauff but she died in the car accident. The duo together had a daughter, India (born on 1991).
