Early Life Of Giada De Laurentiis

Giada De Laurentiis was born as Giada Pamela De Laurentiis on August 22, 1970, in Rome, Italy. Regarding her nationality, she is American and belongs to the Caucasian ethnicity. 

De Laurentiis is the eldest child of actress Veronica De Laurentiis and Alex De Benedetti, actor-producer. After her parents' divorce, she moved to Southern California along with her sibling and took her mother's last name. However, her mother married producer, Ivan Kavalsky.

She completed her graduation from Marymount High School in Los Angeles. Later she attended the University of California, Los Angeles, and grabbed her bachelor's degree in social anthropology in 1996.

Nevertheless, she studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris with the dream of becoming a pastry chef. 

Giada De Laurentiis' Career

Giada De Laurentiis worked as a professional chef at several restaurants in LA during the initial phase of her career. Later she worked as a food stylist and she styles the food in Food & Wine Magazine in 2002. 

Her amazing work attracted much attention and as a result, she was hired by Food Network. De Laurentiis runs her cooking show, Everyday Italian which receives both positive and negative feedback from audiences. Some of them even accused the network and said they were hiring a model and pretending to be a chef. 

In October 2006, she hosted, Behind the Bash, and after a year, she hosts the third show, Giada's Weekend Getaways with Food Network. 

Later, she hosted different shows and events, as well as she, judged much popular cooking shows also. In 2008, she was awarded to Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lifestyle Host. 

Apart from cooing, she lends a voice in the animated series, Handy Manny as Paulette and in the US version of Tinker Bell. De Laurentiis opened her first restaurant, GIADA in Las Vegas. 

Giada De Laurentiis also released four books, Giada's Family Dinners (2006), Giada's Kitchen (2008), Everyday Italian: 125 Simple and Delicious Recipes (2005), Everyday Pasta (2007) and all of them are a huge success.

Giada De Laurentiis is in a romantic relationship with her long-time beau, Shane Farley. They first met in 2013 before De Laurentiis's divorce from her first husband. The duo is often spotted together at public events. 

Previously, she was married to a fashion designer, Todd Thompson on May 25, 2003. The duo dated one another for a long time before their nuptials. De Laurentiis was just 19 when she started dating Thompson.

The couple has been blessed with one daughter named, Jade Marie De Laurentiis-Thompson, who was born on March 29, 2008. The couple couldn't handle their relationship and called it quits in 2014.

De Laurentiis announced her separation news via Facebook where she wrote,

"After an amicable separation since July, Todd and I have decided to end our marriage. Although our decision to separate comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus on the future and overwhelming desire for our family's happiness has given us the strength to move forward on separate, yet always connected paths."

She added,

"Todd and I share a beautiful daughter and a lifetime of great memories that we both treasure more than anything. We are so thankful for our friends and family, and really appreciate the support in this time of change."

However, their divorce was finalized on September 3, 2015. Giada De Laurentiis is also rumored to have had an affair with her fellow celebrity chefs, Bobby Flay, and Matt Lauer but she denies the rumors stating it as fake news. Her ex-husband, Thompson is currently dating model Heather Lacombe.

Giada De Laurentiis through her hard work has not only achieved huge success and popularity but also quite a lot of money. Her estimated net worth is a mammoth $30 million and she accumulated the handsome sum from hosting several shows.

In 2015, she had to pay alumni to her husband, Todd Thompson. She was ordered by a court to pay $9,000 per month to Thomspon as child support. De Laurentiis also ordered to divide assets including $3.2 million Pacific Palisades which has furniture and artwork over $300,000. 

Besides this, she also shares the profit of her books with Thompson, Weeknights with Giada for $2.5 million, Giada's Feel Good Food for $2.3 million, and Everyday Pasta for $757,000.
