James Kwesi Appiah is a football coach in Ghana and also former footballer himself. He is also known as Akwasi Appiah. He has played for Asante Kotoko from 1983 to 1993 as left back player and for Ghanaian national team from 1987 to 1992 and captained the team as well. Currently, he is the manager of Sudanese club Al Khartoum. When his Ghanaian team qualified for the World Cup 2014 in Brazil, it made him the first black African coach to take the country to the World Cup.
