The widely acclaimed R&B star R. Kelly is charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Subsequently, the singer-songwriter turned himself into the Chicago police jurisdiction on Friday night, just hours after he faced the charges.
In fact, the 52-year-old singer arrived at the station at 8:15 PM. As he entered Chicago's District 1 police officers, Kelly appeared grim-faced while handcuffed under a blue jacket.

Now each count of the sexual assault requires the singer to spend 3-7 years behind bars. According to his attorney Steve Greenberg, the charges have left the singer shell-shocked.
Greenberg told the press,
"My client is extraordinarily disappointed and depressed about the charges."
Moreover, a newly discovered video found by attorney Michael Avenatti is the root of many recent allegations. According to a copy of the indictment, the video allegedly shows Kelly having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
The attorney maintained the indictment lists four victims who are identified by initials, and multiple alleged criminal acts of sexual assault that date back to 1998. Court documents provide evidence that the victims are minors and between the age of 13 and 17.
Kelly was at least five years older than the victims at the time of the alleged assaults, said Michael. Avenatti held his side of the motion for almost 45 minutes, condemning Kelly as disgusting and also Kelly's alleged enablers – more than 10 individuals he claimed helped Kelly commit sex crimes against young girls in multiple jurisdictions for nearly two decades.
The Associated Press reported, a Chicago judge issued a no-bail arrest warrant for Kelly. The R&B star, however, may be provided bail after appearing in court for hearing of the allegations.
Kelly is due to appear in court Saturday for a bond hearing, said Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx at a press conference in Chicago to announce the charges.
Attorney Gloria Allred, claims to represent multiple women who accused Kelly of sexual misconduct. She also introduced two new accusers at a New York press conference Thursday. The women said they were teens when Kelly plied them with alcohol and marijuana during the mid-'90s in a hotel room in Baltimore. The accusers stated that the night ended with statutory rape of one of them.
Allred said in a statement emailed to USA TODAY on Friday.
"As I predicted yesterday, the wheels of justice are turning,"
She wrote,
"This may not be the only prosecution of Mr. Kelly, because we are aware of other open investigations in other jurisdictions, but I am very glad that he has been indicted in Cook County and that this day has finally come for Mr. Kelly."
The indictment of Kelly, 52, comes after nearly two decades of allegations, a failed criminal trial, a #MuteRKelly uprising campaign, a breakup with the artist's recording label, and most important of all, the airing of a Kelly-damning film series, Surviving R. Kelly, in January of 2019.
The movie shed light into the long-standing allegations of sexual misconduct against Kelly. The six-part movie dug deeper into the allegations including sex with underage girls and trapping a number of female fans in a sex cult. Surviving R. Kelly is bound to broadcast on Monday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m at Lifetime.
Despite the years of allegations, Kelly was only charged once in Chicago back in 2008. He was tried on multiple counts of child pornography due to a video involving a different underage girl. Citing that the video was not clear and due to lack of substantial evidence, Kelly walked free just hours in on the case.
