Anderson Cooper welcomes Second Son - Ex-Boyfriend Benjamin Maisani adopts Wyatt
The CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper announced surprising news on his broadcast show on Thursday evening. The television personality's ex-boyfriend Benjamin Maisani adopts a second son, a 22-month old, Wyatt Emory Cooper.
Anderson Cooper made the big announcement on his broadcast show Anderson Cooper 360 on Thursday evening. Cooper shared personal news that his ex Benjamin Maisani is adopting Cooper's 21 months son, Wyatt Emory Cooper.
Well, Anderson will be co-parenting Wyatt with his former partner Maisani. Previously CNN news anchor 54 announced the birth of his older son, Wyatt, in the April of 2020.
"In the early dark days of the pandemic, you may recall I announced the birth of my son Wyatt," Cooper said back in 2020, showing the newborn's photos to the audience on the big- screen," These are the pictures I showed of my son taken just days after he was born."
The host continued," This is Wyatt today; he's nearly 22 months old and sweet and funny and the greatest joy of my life."
While calling Maisani his "best friend," the TV personality revealed on the show, "We're a family. Benjamin is also in the process of adopting Wyatt, whose last name will be changed to Maisani-Cooper.
What's more, Cooper also gave tribute to his late mother Gloria Vanderbilt, father Wyatt Emory Cooper, and brother Carter Cooper in the emotional TV segment.

Several Cooper's colleagues at CNN, including Kaitlan Collins and Don Lemon, took to Twitter to congratulate him on announcing that Anderson and his ex-boyfriend won't be letting the end of their romantic relationship in 2018 ruin their sweet family dynamics.
Not to mention, Maisani was also present in the delivery room during the birth of Wyatt in 2020. Cooper explained that he and Maisani would raise the two boys together after introducing the family's new addition via surrogate. "This is Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper. He was 6.8lbs at birth, and he's healthy."
The reporter then added," And even his occasional hiccups are to me, adorable. He mostly just sleeps and eats and certainly poops, but he already seems like a wise and thoughtful little chap."
In January 2021, Cooper shared the lovely clip with his older son and partner on his Instagram account. In that post, the two wonderful dads could be seen having a playful time full of laughter.
Besides this, the longtime news anchor in Sep of 2021 gave insight into his book Vanderbilt- The Rise and Fall of an American Dynasty. He said," I spoke with @people about the book, which is in many ways a letter to my son."
