Additionally, the lovebirds began dating in 2015. They first met on DWTS as pro dancers and have been together ever since. The couple tried to keep their romantic bond quiet before finally making their relationship known to the public.

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, Derek told about keeping their romance in the dark," It's just tiring. It was liberating, honestly, just being like, Hey this is our relationship. This is cool. This is what it is and is great."

"I think I just kind of got almost conditioned to feel or believe that I have to hide everything. When in reality, I was just like, You know what? There's a freedom to just being open about it."

The actor also revealed possible plans to pop the big question back in 2016, lifting a lid on his hopes to take his love affair with Hayley to the next level with marriage, as per Page Six.
