Legendary Country Musician Joe Diffie Dies After Diagnosed With Coronavirus
Legendary American Country singer and songwriter Joe Diffie has died after being diagnosed with Covid-19 just a few days earlier.
American country singer Joe Diffie passed away on Sunday, March 29. The "Pickup Man" singer's publicist, Scott Adkins, confirmed his death. He was 61-years-old at the time of his death.
His death comes only two days after he announced to the public that he tested positive for the deadly disease. The Grammy-winning singer's statement read:
"My family and I are asking for privacy at this time. We want to remind the public and all my fans to be vigilant, cautious and careful during this pandemic."
Joe's death was also confirmed by his wife Tara Terpening Diffie who took over his Instagram account with a picture of caption saying
"It's with a sad heart that I have to post this. Tara."
The "Regular Joe" hit-maker was born on December 28, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Joe Riley Diffie and Flora Diffe. He attended Cameron University but dropped out before graduation. The country singer made his musical debut in 1989 with the release of his single "Home."
For his single "Same Old Train," he won the Grammy Award in 1999. The song featured country singers like Marty Stuart, Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris, Earl Scruggs, Alison Krauss, and many others.

After learning about his demise, many celebrities gave their tributes through their social media. Country singer Luke Bryan wrote on his Twitter:
"Country music lost a legend today, Joe Diffie was one of the greats."
Other celebrities to express their sadness over his death were chef Andrew Zimmern, Musician duo Big & Rich, Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood, and many others.
Besides his wife Tara, Joe was survived by seven children from four marriages. He first tied the knot with Janise Parker in 1982 and divorced in 1986. Diffie's second wife is Debbie Jones with whom he lived married life from 1988 to 1996, and the third spouse is Theresa Crump with whom he married in 2000 and parted ways in 2017.
