Amid disheartening news every day because of coronavirus, Canadian singer Michael Buble provided some news to smile.

In the latest episode of the HGTV's new series "Celebrity IOU," it was seen that singer Michael Bublé has gifted his grandfather's house to Minette, a health worker from the Philippines who was taking care of his grandfather Demetrio for the past eight years.

According to Bublé, when he first hired Minette, his grandfather was a little bit resentful about the idea of hiring a nurse. However, with time, Demetrio warmed up to Minette, and slowly, they became friends and later was treated as a family member.

The reason for such close bind, in part, goes to Minette's personality. The 44-year-old describes her as a "really compassionate, a kind empathetic human being with a great sense of humor, a great zest for life, who sort of never did anything for herself."

Bublé revealed that the Pinay was sending most of her earnings back to her family in the Philippines and was living in a bare minimum in Canada. Thus his grandfather's wish was to lessen the burden a little bit in allowing Minette to continue helping her family without it being so hard on her.

Thus, the father of three thought the best way to honor grandfather's wish was to gift the grandfather house to Minette. The house that is located in Vancouver was built by his grandfather in the 1970s with his own hands.

The Grammy Award-winning singer reminisced that he often visited this house in his childhood and has many memories attached to it. According to him,

“The greatest moments of my life happened here and in that room in the most formative years and the songs I learned and the style of music I fell in love with happened right here,”

Given the house was decades-old; thus Christmas singer decided to renovate it before gifting. For that, he took the help of Drew Scott and Jonathan Scott of "Property Brothers." fame.

Since Buble wanted this gift to be a surprise for Minette; thus, he planned to renovate it when she is in the Philippines for three and a half weeks. Luckily they completed the task in the given period.

Now the only thing left was to handover the house. The To be Loved singer asked his former employee to come to the house, claiming that there is a documentary filming about his grandfather, and your experience will be added. Thankfully she bought the bluff and came to the house.

After entering the house, Michael revealed to Minette that there isn't a documentary, and the house is hers as his grandfather wanted so. Minette obviously was in tears by the generous gift and stated:

“'It is so much, really, really so much. I have no words right now. It hasn’t sunk in yet. It's beautiful, beautiful.”
