Daveigh Chase Biography

Early Life

Daveigh Chase was born Daveigh Elizabeth Chase- Schwallier on July 24, 1990, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is the daughter of Cathy Chase and John Schwallier. Later, after the divorce of her parents, her name was changed to Daveigh Elizabeth Chase. She is of White-American ethnicity.

Chase grew up in a small town in Albany, Oregon and from her childhood, she had interest in singing and dancing, also performed in her hometown and other local events. She landed her first commercial at the age of 7 for Campbell's Soup while visiting Los Angeles. Chase was then offered a lead role in the Musical Theatre production Utah. 

Chase is also a talented singer and in 1999, she was offered to join as a lead singer with a small band and performing as an opening act for Reba McEntire.

Career

Daveigh Chase acting career began in 2002 after she voiced a Hawaiian girl, Lilo Pelekai in Lilo & Stitch, an animated Disney feature. Her performance in the movie won her an Annie Award in 2003 and an opportunity to again star in the follow-up TV series Lilo & Stitch: The Series. Further, Chase voiced a lead character, Chihiro Ogino in American dub of Spirited Away, a Japanese animated feature.

Chase then starred in the feature film, The Ring as Samara Morgan for which she won the 2003 Best Villain award at the MTV Movie Awards. She defeated Mike Myers, Daniel Day-Lewis, Willem Dafoe and Colin Farrell to capture the award.

In the sequel The Ring Two(2005), her footage from the first Ring was used, for which she was given credit, but Kelly Stables performed all of the new footage.

From 2000 to 2005, Chase appeared in a series of movies and TV show, some of them include, Donnie Darko(2001), Oliver Beene(2003-2004), Carolina(2003), Beethoven's 5th(2003) and much more. Besides, she also made guest appearances in Family Law, Charmed, ER, The Practice and Touched by an Angel.

In 2006, the Annie Award winner, Chase appeared in the HBO drama series Big Love as Rhonda Volmer alongside cast Bill Paxton, Harry Dean Stanton and so on. She was also part of the second season of the series aired in 2007.

She again voiced the Leroy & Stitch, a follow-up to Lilo & Stitch which released in 2006.

Her most recent work includes movies American Romance and Jack Goes Home. Besides, she also featured in the video game Let It Die as Kiwako Seto.

Daveigh Chase is possibly single. So far, she has done a great job in keeping her personal and professional life separate. No news about her relationship or alleged boyfriend has come out in the media.

Chase besides acting loves surfing, dancing, horseback riding, reading and hanging out with friends & family during her leisure time.
