Marielle Heller's Husband is Comedian and Actor Jorma Taccone

Marielle Heller met her husband, Jorma Taccone, in the late nineties, when they were students at the University of California Los Angeles(UCLA).  Often, the college romance does not last long because of differing career opportunities or a change in heart.

However, that was not the case with Heller and her then-boyfriend Jorma. The couple continued their romance after college and eventually tied the Knot on 30 June 2007.

Heller and her spouse Taccone did not start a family soon. Their first child, a son named Wylie Red Heller Taccone, was born in December 2014, nearly seven years after the couple's marriage. The couple's second child, a daughter, was born in August 2020.

Since the couple's children are so young, the actress and her husband have made a rule that if one takes on a big project, the other one stays home and assumes the role of primary parent.

Marielle Heller was always interested in acting and started performing at a young age. She used to participate in her school's productions as well in community theatres. After high school, she learned acting at UCLA and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art(RADA).

After completion of her acting training, the California native started working as an actress. She did a few movies and TV shows but was mostly focused on theater.

It is not wrong to say despite being an amazing performer, Heller gained major recognition only in 2015 when she wrote and directed the movie The Diary of a Teenage Girl. The film won several prizes at different festivals.

Since then, the 41-year-old has directed two more highly acclaimed movies, Can You Ever Forgive Me? featuring Melissa McCarthy and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood starring Tom Hanks. In addition to that, she has also directed some episodes of few television shows.

Heller has mentioned various times that acting is her first love, and hence despite gaining fame as a director, she has not given up on acting. She was last seen in the series The Queen's Gambit in the role of Alma Wheatley.
