Mayim Bialik is an American actress, author, and neuroscientist. She is best known for her role Blossom Ruby Russo in the NBC popular sitcom, Blossom from 1991 to 1995. Since 2010, she is a regular cast in CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory where she played the role of Amy Farrah Fowler – like the actress, a neuroscientist. She received four Emmy nomination for her role Amy Farrah Fowler and won the Critics' Choice Television Award.
Early Life and Education of Mayim Bialik
Mayim Bialik was born on December 12, 1975, in San Diego, California, the U.S. to Barry Bialik and Beverly (née Winkleman) Bialik. Her family was Jewish immigrants who lived in The Bronx, New York City. She was raised as a Reform Jew but now she considers herself to be Modern Orthodox Jewish. She also described herself as a "staunch Zionist".
Bialik attended Walter Reed Junior High School. Then she joined North Hollywood High School in North Hollywood and graduated in 1993.
