In addition, Daryl's motorbike landed on top of him after the flip, which permanently damaged his spinal. Thankfully, witnesses saw him, and help arrived as quickly as possible. After being hospitalized for days, Mitchell's state was already critical with a bruised kidney, fractured wrist, and consequently paralyzed forever from the waist down.

Surprisingly, Daryl made an incredible comeback with the sitcom Ed (2002-2004) and appeared as a paralyzed bowling alley character El. Thanks to his best friends Denzel Washington, and Chris Tucker, and family who supported him during a tough time. Daryl continued to work in TV series and films with new hope despite being confined to his wheelchair.
