Elijah Spader is the second child of The Blacklist famed actor James Spader and set decorator Victoria Kheel Spader. His parents divorced when he was twelve years old. The former husband-wife were together from 1987 to 2004. However, the reason behind their separation is still not known.

Elijah grew up in Los Angeles with his older brother Sebastian Spader. He also has a half-brother named Nathaneal Spader, born to James's father and his current partner Leslie Stefanson with whom James started a romantic bond in 2002.
