The former 2 times WWE Divas Championship Maryse is a Canadian actress, glamor model, businesswoman, professional wrestling manager, and professional wrestler recently signed to WWE under the ring name Maryse. In August 2006, Maryse was hired by the professional wrestling promotion WWE, after she participated in the WWE Diva Search competition. In 2008, she spent time in Ohio Valley Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling, WWE’s developmental territories, before being assigned to the SmackDown brand. In December 2008, she won her first WWE Divas Championship and held it for 7-months. In late 2011, she stated plans for a clothing and jewelry line called House of Maryse, and later started working as a realtor.
Early Life & Education
The former two times WWE Divas Championship Maryse, real name Maryse Mizanin Ouellet is a Canadian actress, glamor model, businesswoman, professional wrestling manager, and professional wrestler currently signed to WWE under the ring name Maryse.
The 34-years-old Maryse was born in Montreal, Quebec, but raised in Edmundston, New Brunswick. In high school, she ran the school’s fashion show and was the only girl in her class. Maryse has a degree in business administration and is a black belt in martial arts.
Early Career
Maryse started developing a range of makeup products. She began her modeling career as a beauty pageant contestant and winning Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada 2003 and stood second at the International Finals of Miss Hawaiian Tropic 2004.
Maryse was also on the cover of Playboy’s 2007 Girls of Canada calendar.
Wrestling career
In mid-2006, Maryse tried out for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)’s Diva Search. She was one of the top 8 contestants. She was formally signed to a WWE developmental contract on 24 August 2006 and assigned to OVW for training. She made her in-ring debut at OVW live event in December 2006.
In September 2008, Maryse challenged for the WWE Divas Championship at Unforgiven, and the following week had a rematch at SmackDown, unfortunately, loss on both occasions.
On 5 October 2012, Maryse appeared at the Family Wrestling Entertainment (FWE) event “Back 2 Brooklyn," and did live commentary.
Managing The Miz (2016-present)
Maryse made her return to WWE on April 2016 during the match of her husband The Miz in which she helped him win the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Since then she has accompanied Miz ringside and has helped him win many matches.
Maryse’s other works
In April 2007, Maryse along with fellow WWE Divas Ashley, Brooke Adams, Torrie Wilson, Kelly Kelly, and Layla featured in Timbaland’s music video “Throw It On Me” along with The Hives.
Maryse has also appeared in various newspaper interviews such as Tokyo Headline, and a cover of Sessions Magazine in October 2010. She was on the cover of Le Journal de Montreal and featured on MDA Show of Strength alongside The Miz and several celebrities in 2012.
In 2015, Ouellet had roles in Santa’s Little Helper and Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! In the same year, she appeared on the E! Reality TV series “WAGS." In 2016, Maryse she appeared as a main cast member on the 6th season of “Total Divas." She featured in three WWE video games including, WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2010, WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2011, and WWE’12.
After she left WWE in 2011, Maryse focused on her plans for a jewelry and clothing line called, “House of Maryse.” In late 2013, she started working as a realtor in Los Angeles.
Personal Life
The gorgeous Maryse married the wrestling superstar, and actor, The Miz on 20 February 2014 at the one and only Ocean Club in the Bahamas. Although the couple has no children yet, they said that they would soon like be the parents to one.
Ouellet first met her husband, The Miz during the 2006 WWE Diva Search. After a year later, they began dating, and in February 2013, Miz proposed to her at the same place, where they first met on the Diva’s Search six years before.
