Tom Hanks and His Wife Rita Wilson Tested Positive for Coronavirus

American actor Tom Hanks and his actress-singer wife Rita Wilson are diagnosed with coronavirus in Australia. Tom revealed the news on his social media platform. 

The United States was just grappling the fact that some of its politicians might be a victim of coronavirus. However, now the country has to accept another fact; one of its beloved actors is already a coronavirus victim. On Thursday, 12 March 2020, Tom Hanks informed the world that he and his wife Rita Wilson are diagnosed with coronavirus through his Instagram. In the post, he shared a picture of a used glove in the dustbin and wrote:

"Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive."

The Academy Award-winning actor further added that the pair is following the protocol and will remain isolated as necessary. Also, the couple is currently maintaining a one-day-at-a-time approach. In addition to that, the actor has mentioned that he will keep his fans updated about the future situation.

The Instagram post shared by the "Forrest Gump" star has already over 1.4 million likes and hundreds of thousands of comments. Fans from all over the world are sending their love and best wishes to the couple.

Also, Hollywood celebrities are not far behind.  Stars such as Reese Witherspoon, Wilmer Valderrama, and Jack Black have already commented on the post with words of encouragement.  The "Legally Blonde" actress, Reese wrote the message, "Please Take Care" whereas the comedian, Black wrote, "Sending Love ". He ended his comment with a blue heart emoji.

Seeing the outpour of concern from fans, Tom Hanks and his wife's eldest son Chet Hanks posted a Instagram video from New Orleans to calm the fans. In the video, he stated that he just talked with his parents and they both are fine and are not feeling that much sick. Infact they are not much worried about the disease but are taking necessary precautions. He also thanked everyone for their concern and wishes.

The Golden Globe Award-winning actor and his singer wife were in Australia doing pre-production work on a film about singer Elvis Presley. After the news of Hanks' broke out, Warner Bros, the production company behind the film released a statement which wrote:

"We are working closely with the appropriate Australian health agencies to identify and contact anyone who may have come in direct contact with the individual,"

Furthermore, the company insisted that the health and safety of the company members is always the top priority.

Before getting diagnosed, the 63-year-old actor and his spouse were captured enjoying different famous spots of Australia.  Furthermore, the Hanks' are amiable and happily takes selfies and meet with fans. So, it is feared that many people might have come in contact with Hanks and might be the carrier of the virus now.
