Early life and Education of Anthony Heald

Anthony Heald was born Philip Anthony Mair Heald on born August 25, 1944, in New Rochelle, New York, U.S to editor father. His father was a Buddhist and mother is Episcopalian. He has a sister who is Catholic.

Heald belongs to white-American ethnicity/race and holds an American nationality. His parents inspired him to get involved in acting. During his high school, he performed in several theaters plays. 

Heald attended Massapequa High school. In 1971, he graduated with major in English and History from the Michigan State University. While in university, he also took a lot of theater classes and acting classes. 

Moreover, heald worked summer stock for four summers, while in school. He then moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1967 and worked with the Repertory Theatre.

Anthony Heald debuted with the 1983 American biographical drama film, Silkwood. The following year, he was featured in two movies, Teachers as Narc, and The Beniker Gang as Mr. Uldrich.

In 1991, Heald portrayed the character of Dr. Frederick Chilton in American horror-thriller film, The Silence of the Lambs. In the movie, he shared the screen with Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, Scott Glenn, Ted Levine, and many others.

Heald then made his appearances in the number of movies including, Outrageous Fortune, Searching for Bobby Fischer, The Ballad of Little Jo, A Time to Kill, Proof of Life, Red Dragon, Accepted and many more.

Anthony Heald’s Personal Life 

Anthony Heald married is in a marital relationship with Robin Ray Herskowitz. The duo tied the knot in 1996 at a private ceremony. His wife is supportive and encouraging as Heald always seeks help from his wife before starting any new projects.

Heald's wife worked as director of the on-site arts-centered preschool program in outdoor children's playground.

The couple is blessed with two children, a son Dylan Heald, and, a daughter, Zoe Heald. They raised their children in a spiritual community as his wife was raised a nonreligious Jew and they felt Judaism was the organized religion.

Heald and his wife adopted Dylan Heald and moved to Ashland, Oregon, where he started working at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

In early 2000, Heald shifted to Los Angeles along with his family because of his professional commitment.
