Derek Fisher: His Married Life With Candice Fisher
Derek and Candace spent almost 10 years as husband and wife. The time span is obviously so long but their split was an unexpected one.
He married his former wife, Candace on 19 February 2005. The couple bears four kids twins Tatum Fisher and Drew Fisher, Marshall Fisher, and Chloe Fisher together.
He got himself very helpless when his daughter Tatum was diagnosed with a retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer.
"I didn’t know what that word meant. It wasn’t until I called the head athletic trainer … his reaction is what crystallized my reaction. I think I was still numb to the whole thing and when he reacted to hearing ‘retinoblastoma,’ that’s what ended up scaring me more than I’d ever been scared before."
Further, he added,
"It was so challenging to watch her suffer and go through all of the scans and the number of times they had to take her blood and find a vein for an IV. I felt helpless as a dad watching her be so uncomfortable and in so much pain. I felt like there should have been more I could do so she wouldn’t feel the pain and be in discomfort, but I knew it was something she had to go through to get cured. I felt like there should have been more I could do so she wouldn’t feel the pain and be in discomfort, but I knew it was something she had to go through to get cured."
The treatment is ongoing for more than 5 years and everyone is hoping for a positive response.
