Who Was David Berman Married To? Know More About His Married Life

Multi-talented singer David Berman came to prominence in the late 1990s as the member of the indie-rock band the Silver Jews. In addition to his music career, he is also an accomplished poet, cartoonist, and philanthropist.

The singer-songwriter David Berman left this world on 7 August 2019 at the age of 52.  He left behind ex-wife Cassie Berman with whom he was together for twenty years. Know more about his ex-spouse and married life in detail in the article below:

David Berman was married to Cassie Berman; Who is she?

Cassie Berman is an American musician who primarily plays bass. She met the Silver Jews member in nineties, and the couple got married in 1999. The wedding was an intimate affair, and only close friends and family attended the ceremony.

Like Beyonce and Jay-Z, David and Cassie did not only become partners for life but also became a support system professionally. She joined her husband's band as bassist and started touring with them from 2006.

Cassie brought not only her superb bassist skill but also calm professionalism, which was a perfect counter for David's endearingly shambolic presence. The pair even used to perform duets which used to be the tour's highlights.

What Happened to This Perfect Relationship? What was the Cause of their Separation?

David and his wife Cassie lived a blissful married life for nearly 20 years, becoming each other's rock. No one thought the couple would part ways after such a long time, however, the relationship started taking a bad turn and the couple suffered the same fate as of Chris Rock and his ex-wife Malaak Compton Rock.

Speaking about their separation, David stated:

"We’ve been together 20 years, and the first decade we lived in town and had parties and were always together as a couple"

He added:

"After the [last Silver Jews show] I completely retreated into our house and buried myself in books. I saw no one and did nothing. Cassie continued to make friends, to play music, to go on vacations and be with family and I Bartlebied my way out of all of it.”

Based on David's comments on their split, it looks like the relationship died its natural death. Furthermore, there was no inciting incident that can be named as a reason for their parting ways.

The singer moreover released a song Maybe I’m the Only One for Me on July 2019 after separation from his wife. Many speculated that the song was about his failed marriage. The couple though married for such a long time, do not share any children.
