What Is Lisa Marie Presley's Current Relationship Status?

As there is no news of the "I Love You Because" singer being in a relationship, she is possibly single at present. Lisa is currently relishing her life with her family and close ones, which she often shares on her social media.

In 2018, however, rumors were flying around the media that she and actor Johnny Depp were in a dating relationship, but later it turned to untrue. 

Though she appears not to be in lovey-dovey with anyone, the 52-year-old had a fair share of relationship history. Not only was she in an intimate relationship, but she had also been married numerous times in the past. So, who were her partners?

Married And Divorced Four Times

For many, it might be hard to withstand heartbreak a even a single time, but she has been in that state not just once or twice but four times. That's right! Presley had been in wedlock with four people. Her first marriage was with a fellow Scientologist, singer, and songwriter Danny Keough. 

The duo tied the knot on October 03, 1988, which lasted for three and a half years before divorcing on May 06, 1994. The two separated on mutual terms and became good friends even after their breakup. 

From their time together, they had two children: daughter, Riley Keough (Born on May 29, 1989), and son Benjamin Keough (Born on October 21, 1992). Their daughter Riley is a successful model, actress, and producer right now.

Wedded Michael Jackson 

Just 20 days after officially separating with Danny, she tied the knot with the most prominent pop singer of that time, Michael Jackson, on May 26, 1994. As his wife, Lisa attended various events, seminars, and tours with the "Thriller" hitmaker.

From the outside point of view, the pair seemed to have an amazing bonding into their marital life. In actuality, rarely has been the case when everything looks okay on the outside is the same on the inside.

Due to many undisclosed reasons, the pair could not maintain a longlasting marriage and less than two years after their wedding ceremony, and without sharing any kids from their relationship, they officially parted ways on January 18, 1996.

Engagement And Nuptial

After splitting with Michael, Lisa remained single for a couple of years and later became engaged with singer John Oszajca in 2000. However, she called off the engagement the same year after meeting Nicolas Cage at a birthday party in Los Angeles in 2000.

Presley and Cage remained in a dating relationship for two years before they went on to marry on August 10, 2002. But Lisa's third marriage did not go well, and in fact, it went worse than the previous as Cage filed for the divorce only 108 days into their marriage on November 25, 2002.

The actor cited irreconcilable differences as the main reason for separation.  She and the "Ghost Rider" actor officially split on May 16, 2004.

Fourth Marriage And Lawsuit

Less than two years after calling off her relationship with Nicolas, Presley walked down the aisle for the fourth time with American guitarist and producer Michael Lockwood. Dressed up as a geisha (Japanese woman who entertain through performing traditional dance and singing while wearing kimono and Oshiroi makeup), the lady got hitched with Lockwood in Japan on January 22, 2006. 

The pair's wedding was conducted in a traditional Japanese ceremony in Kyoto, Japan. Lisa's celebrity mother, Priscilla Presley, helped her walk down the aisle while her ex-spouse Danny Keough became the best man. Moreover, her daughter Reiley was the maid of honor while her son Benjamin became the groomsman. 

On October 07, 2008, almost two years after their lavish wedding, the two welcomed twins: Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood. The children were given birth via Caesarean section at Los Robles Hospital & Medical center in Thousand Oaks, California.

Both Lisa and Michael were proud parents, and looking at their excellent relationship at that time, everyone was sure the fourth time was the charm for the singer. Unfortunately, it wasn't! After living ten years as husband and wife, Presley filed for divorce from Lockwood on June 13, 2016.  

Children Taken Into Protective Custody

After filing for divorce from her partner, the duo's children lived with her. On February 17, 2017, she asserted that she found disturbing and sexually explicit photos and videos on her estranged husband's computer.

Presley's children were immediately placed in the custody of California's child services. Michael was investigated over the alleged incident.

The four-time married singer said, "she was shocked and horrified and sick to my stomach."
She also went on to further state:

"When I discovered the photos on [Lockwood's] computer and viewed the videos, I was shocked and horrified and sick to my stomach; I had no idea that [he] had taken those photos. I will refrain from describing the photographs in detail out of respect for the privacy of my family."

Upon investigation on Presley and Lockwood, the pictures turned out to be family photos of the girls in a bathtub. Furthermore, sources revealed that Presley was also present in the bathroom while the snapshots were taken.

While who will win the custody of the two kids remains to unfold, in December 2019, the judge has officially set the pair's divorce trial on July 20, 2020, which might finalize everything.

Was Only Nine When Elvis Died

The year 1977 was a mournful one for most music lovers due to the death of singer Elvis Presley who was at that time the world's most famous musician. But it was more painful for Lisa Marie Presley, who lost her loving dad.

Lisa's parents Priscilla and Elvis Presley were in matrimony from 1967 to 1973. After the couple's divorce, Lisa started to live with her mother.  

The mother of four was only nine-years-old at the time of her father's death. In an interview in 2019, Lisa Marie opened up about the final time she saw her father alive.

The female singer-songwriter shared her last conversation with her dad was when he found her awake and out of bed that night. Lisa stated she does not like talking about it but told:

"It was August 16, at four a.m. I was supposed to be asleep, actually. He found me, you know, 'Go to bed.' I said, 'Okay."

Lisa Marie recalls that her dad kissed her before she went to bed to sleep, saying:

"I think he kissed me goodnight. That was the last time I saw him alive."

Elvis, whom people touted as the King of Rock and Roll, was found unconscious on his bathroom floor by his girlfriend Ginger Alden. The Heartbreak Hotel singer was immediately rushed to the hospital, but the efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. His death was officially pronounced as a result of cardiac arrest at 3:30 p.m. on August 16, 1977.

The actress later wrote the event of that disastrous night in her memoir, "Elvis and Ginger: Elvis Presley's Fiancée and Last Love Finally Tells Her Story." On her book, Ginger recalled young Lisa appearing in the doorway, writing:

"'What's wrong with my daddy?' she asked. I didn't want her to see her father like this. "'Nothing, Lisa,' I said, turning her away."

Losing her father at a minor age, it is natural that Lisa went through enormous pain and suffering. We hope she has overcome them and is living a content life. 

Released Her Father's Song In A New Version 

In August 2007, on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, Lisa released a new version of her dad's 1969 song "In the Ghetto." In it, she sings her father's song and duets with him.

At the time of Elvis Presley's death, he had a net worth of only $5 million. But before he died in 1977, his will was his father Vernon Presley to become executor and trustee.

The "In the Ghetto" singer had chosen three people as the beneficiaries of the trust, his father Veron, grandmother Minnie Mae Presley, and his then-nine-year-old Lisa Marie Presley, whose inheritance was to be held in trust till her 25th birthday.

Lisa's grandfather Veron died in 1979 while her great grandmother Minnie Mae passed away in 1980. Hence, she became the sole inheritor of the legendary singer's wealth.

Until the time the "Dirty Laundry" singer reached twenty-five years, her mother Priscilla acted as the trustee. Under the stewardship of the 74-year-old actress, the wealth increased to an enormous $100 million.

Eventually, on her twenty-fifth birthday, she claimed her father's fortune and started to serve as the chairperson of Elvis Presley Enterprise. However, in February 2005, she sold 85% of Elvis Presley Enterprise, Inc (EPE), including Graceland itself and all the property within, to intellectual property company Core Media Group, Inc. (formerly known as CKX, Inc.) for $100 million. The deal paid her $53 million in cash and absolved $25 million worth of debt that had been incurred by the estate. She also received $20 million value of equity in Core Media Group.

Among the list of assets, Lisa Elvis Presley's daughter owned houses contributed to a significant portion of it. She was the owner of a couple of homes in her life, one of them being the luxurious English retreat home located in Rotherfield, East Sussex, which sat on a 49 acre of land.  

The home consisted of 11 bedrooms, nine bathrooms, an indoor swimming pool, a spa, and a sauna. Moreover, it had a blend of 15th Century and modern designs. Reportedly the house was put on sale on the market for $5.8 million (£4,500,000) in 2017.

Lawsuit Against Ex-Business Manager Barry Siegel

In February 2017, Lisa Marie Presley filed a lawsuit against her ex-business manager, Barry Siegel, allegedly claiming that by making a bad investment, he lost her $100 million fortune, leaving her with only $14,000.

You might ask what the investment was made on? The answer might intrigue you. Most of the investment was made in American Idol's holding company Robert F.X. Sillerman.

Siegel was also a Trustee of Lisa Marie's trust and represented her business interests for 11 years. Lisa accused Siegel of "reckless and negligent mismanagement and self-serving ambition." She also accused the Provident Financial Managers principal of "breach of trust, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, constructive fraud negligent, negligent misrepresentation, unjust enrichment, and accounting."

When the lady asked how Siegel was managing her money, he put her off and told her she would never understand it because it was all too technical for her.

Presley had $500,000 in credit card debt. Furthermore, while handling her funds, she revealed her manager did not pay taxes for her, which resulted in her owing to the IRS $1.5 million and the government of the UK $5 million. She also owes $250,000 in state taxes and other debt in the hundreds of thousands, which sums up her minus $16 million net worth.

After the female singer sued him, Siegel counter-sued her demanding $800,000 in damages and insisted that Presley "squandered" away her wealth mainly due to her "uncontrolled spending habits."

The lawsuit battle between Lisa and Barry is still going on in the Los Angeles courtroom, and it looks inevitable that it will go for quite a while before it can be resolved.

In 2019, the judge granted the songwriter motion seeking to shut down the subpoenas relating to her bank records, and she will not have to produce bank statements from February 2016 till 2019 and only has to turn over bank records before 2016. The foundation is overseen by Lisa, who works as the chairperson, and the management team of Graceland/Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc.

In 2001, Presley Place opened its doors towards homeless people up to one year of rent-free housing, child day care, career, and financial counseling, family management guidance to help them uplift from poverty and assist regain a sense of self-esteem and independence.

The EPCF also funded the Elvis Presley Music Room, where youngsters and others can enjoy access to musical instruments and instruction and participate in various programs. In 2005, the catastrophic hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and surrounding areas leaving many homeless, Presley joined Oprah Winfrey and her Angel Network in providing relief efforts to the people. Many people appreciated and thanked her for humanitarian works.

In 2011, Lisa also became a patron of the Dream Factory, the largest all-volunteer driven children's wish-granting organization in Hainault. She was one of the celebrity guests at the Snowball held at the Prince Regent in Chigwell in aid of the Dream Factory.
