Lewis moreover is busy with his tours and spending time with his mother, Jeannette Black who is a hundred years old. He lost his father Sam Black in 2019 at the age of 101. He is the only living child of his parents, as his brother Ronald Black died in July 1997 due to Cancer.

Lewis was once Married 

Lewis is a bachelor for a long time; however, he once was a married man. He married his then-girlfriend of two years when he was 26-year-old after she said she was pregnant with his child. 

After the marriage, the then husband-wife couple welcomed the child in the world and was living a healthy married life. However, things changed when his then-wife broke the news that he is not the father of her baby. After the revelation, the pair separated and moved on with their life. The marriage only lasted ten months.

Lewis Past Affairs

Lewis was in a relationship with Emmy Award-winning actor, Caitlin Clarke. They dated when they were both studying at Yale School of Drama. They remained in a relationship even after graduation. Their romance, however, ended when she moved to London for her work.

The comedian became bitter about their relationship when he found that she got engaged to another man only a few months after their split. Based on his bad experience with Caitlin, he wrote a play Hitchin. Caitlin's family attended the show; however, Caitlin never participated at any of the shows. Caitlin moreover was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2000, and she died in 2004.

Black further is close to Merican comedian Kathleen Madigan. His fans speculated Madigan to be his girlfriend. Madigan however, denied and told, 

''We tried that and then peacefully agreed we’re better friends.''

Black also added,

''We’re really good at friends. She’s like the sister I never wanted.''

They moreover knew each other for around 37 years and still shares a strong bonding.

Lewis Naked Bus Controversy

Lewis and fellow comedian Jim Norton was arrested in 2000 for their involvement with The Naked Teen Voyeur Bus. The bus had acrylic glass walls and contained numerous young topless women. The bus was driven around Manhattan in the same route that was used by then-President Bill Clinton on that day. Black was released twenty-eight hours after his arrest.
