Scott Foley was born Scott Kellerman Foley on 15th July 1972 in Kansas City, Kansas under the birth sign Cancer. Foley is American by nationality and ethnicity wise he's Mixed(Irish, English German and Scottish descent). He is the eldest among the three children of Connie and Hugh Foley (international banker). His two siblings are Chris Foley and Sean Foley.
As his father was an international banker, the family often traveled and lived in many places including Japan and Australia. At the age of 15, he along with his family settled in St. Louis Missouri. While Foley was a teenager, his mother passed away due to ovarian cancer.
He was a student at Ladue High School and later graduated from Clayton High School.

Scott Foley made his on-screen acting debut in 1995 from the comedy-drama series, Sweet Valley High. He worked in a number of series like Step by Step, Dawson's Creek, and Felicity among which he gained fame for his role as Noel Carne in the latter series. In 2000 he landed his first big-screen role in Scream 3 by Wes Craven. For his role in the movie as a villain, he won a nomination for Teen Choice Awards.
Following his stardom, Foley appeared in many TV series, and movies including True Blood, Undateable, Goldie & Bear, Cougar Town, The Last Templar, Stealing Time, Below and Mr. Maple Leaf among others.
